Important messages may include public safety emergency information about brush fires or earthquakes, road conditions and closures, evacuations as well as other relevant safety and community event information.

Safely Recycle Your Fluorescent Lamps
Posted on Wednesday, March 21 @ 13:26:55 CDT (7 reads)
Announcements Did you know that more than one billion fluorescent lamps were sold in North America last year? Consider this: if one billion fluorescent lamps are properly recycled, then the 200,000 tons of glass, 1,300 tons of aluminum, 15,000 tons of plastics and electronics and 6 tons of mercury could generate enough energy to power more than 14,000 homes.

At Waste Management, we realize that energy efficient fluorescent lamps are important to a greener future and a cleaner environment. However, because of the mercury in fluorescent lamps, they must be properly managed when they burn out.

Our LampTracker® fluorescent lamp recycling program is designed with you in mind. The program provides a total-care approach to the storage, handling, transport and recycling of fluorescent lamps. In addition, LampTracker helps you to reduce the risk and potential costs associated with employee, customer, neighbor and environmental exposure to mercury.

The program works in just five easy steps:
  1. Order LampTracker Mercury VaporLok® recycling containers online at www.WMLampTracker.com or call (800) 664-1434. Enter Referral Code 171257.
  2. Pack the fluorescent lamps in the Mercury VaporLok recycling container.
  3. When full, mail the postage pre-paid shipping box via UPS or FedEx.
  4. Track your progress at www.WMLampTracker.com.
  5. As soon as your container is received, you will receive a recycling certificate.
And, if you have more than 500 lamps to recycle, just ask about our convenient pallet-load pickup service.

If you have any questions or to place an order, please feel free to contact us at (559) 834-4070 or cslosangeles@wm.com during the hours of:
  • Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM
In addition, www.wm.com is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as a communication and information tool for your use.

Thank you for choosing Waste Management as your waste and environmental services provider.

Cordially,
Waste Management

Announcements

Egg Hunt in the Park:

Again this year North Valley HOA will be co-sponsoring the Annual Egg Hunt in the Central Valley Park adjacent to us, by the school. All North Valley families are invited to participate in this fun event held on Saturday, March 31st.

Children up to 10 years in age are invited to join us at the Park. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 A.M. We recommend that you arrive early since the race to find eggs in the different age categories only takes a few minutes and thus everything moves along quickly.

Your young person should bring a container to hold the eggs they find and you will wish to bring your camera as the Easter Bunny generally finds time to hop by the Park. We hope you and your family will join us in the Park for this eagerly awaited event.

Also, this event will be a great time for you to give back to the community, by bringing some items for the Santa Clarita Food Pantry. Here are some the items most needed. Let’s all help!!!
